bullet imagebullet imageBlue Mountain View is a beautiful environmental sanctuary in southwest Tasmania, near its world heritage area. The property is part of the 700 hectares Mount Misery Habitat Reserve, with its own eco-designed house, overlooking the "Blue Mountain".  In recognition of its high environmental values, the land has  a conservation covenant and is included in Australia's National Reserve System. The property provides rich habitat for a significant array of fauna including rare and endangered species such as the Tasmanian devil, eastern quoll and masked owl. The flora includes strands of Blue Gum and Silver Peppermint eucalyptus forests.

The country was once the home of the Mellukerdee Aboriginal tribe for many thousands of years, who occupied most of the surrounding Huon Valley until the early 1800s.

Today, Blue Mountain View aims to provide an educational resource to help individual landholders become stewards and conservationists, and to offer a place for artistic endeavour and inspiration.

Blue Mountain View is located near Tasmania's Huon Valley, about 40 km southwest of Hobart. It forms part of the network of conservation-managed lands that make up the informal Mt Misery Habitat Reserve. To contact the custodians, please email: bluemountainview (at) hotmail.com
